Globus Medical (GMED) continues to build scale across spine, orthopedics and enabling technologies, including robotic-assisted surgery.

Q2 2026

  • Worldwide net sales: $789.6 million

  • Year-over-year growth: 5.9%

  • Q1 2026 sales: $759.9 million

  • Q1 year-over-year growth: 27.0%

  • First-half 2026 sales: approximately $1.55 billion

That puts Globus on an annualized revenue run rate of more than $3 billion based simply on first-half results.

The Robotics Angle

What makes Globus particularly interesting from a robotics perspective is that the robot isn't necessarily the end product.

Its enabling-technologies strategy connects robotic-assisted surgery with navigation, imaging, instruments and implants.

That creates a potential ecosystem:

Robot + Navigation + Imaging → Procedures → Implants & Instruments

The strategic objective is to use enabling technology to deepen surgeon relationships and ultimately drive greater utilization of the company's broader musculoskeletal portfolio.

Management has previously described the goal as making robotic-assisted surgery the standard of care while increasing "robotic account pull-through."

Financial Foundation

The company's first-quarter results provide additional perspective on the earnings power supporting that investment:

  • Revenue: $759.9M

  • Operating income: $150.4M

  • Net income: $124.3M

  • Diluted EPS: $0.90

  • Compared with Q1 2025:

  • Revenue increased 27% Operating income increased 55%

  • Net income increased 65%

  • 'Diluted EPS increased 67%

The result was an operating margin of approximately 19.8% in Q1.

Why It Matters

Globus represents a different robotics business model.

Rather than depending exclusively on selling robotic systems, the company can potentially benefit from the procedures that occur around its technology.

As robotic-assisted surgery expands, Globus has an opportunity to participate through:

  • Robotic and navigation systems

  • Imaging

  • Surgical instruments

  • Spine implants

  • Joint reconstruction

  • Trauma products

  • Regenerative biomaterials

That creates the possibility of a recurring economic relationship extending well beyond the initial equipment placement.

The bigger takeaway: Globus Medical is becoming a sizable musculoskeletal technology platform, with approximately $1.55 billion of sales in the first half of 2026.

Enabling Technology → Surgeon Adoption → Procedures → Implants/Instruments → Recurring Revenue
