Manhattan Associates (MANH): The Software Behind Automation Is Having a Moment

Manhattan Associates (NASDAQ: MANH) has rallied approximately 24% over the past month. And its latest earnings report provides some interesting context for that move.

The company doesn't manufacture robots. It develops the software that coordinates warehouses, inventory, fulfillment and increasingly automated supply chains.

Robots move the products. Manhattan's software helps determine what moves, where it goes and when.

Q3 2026: By the Numbers

  • $306.2M — Record quarterly revenue, +11% YoY

  • $134.4M — Cloud subscription revenue, +28%

  • $2.59B — Remaining performance obligations (RPO), +25%

  • $1.55 — Adjusted EPS, +14%

  • $115.2M — Adjusted operating income, +11%

  • $1.176B–$1.178B — Updated full-year revenue guidance

Manhattan also delivered another record bookings quarter, with cloud subscription revenue reaching approximately the same level as services revenue for the first time.

Why the Market Is Paying Attention

Three developments stand out.

1. Cloud adoption is outpacing overall growth.

Cloud revenue increased 28%, compared with 11% total revenue growth. That's an important sign of Manhattan's continuing transition toward recurring subscription revenue.

2. Future revenue commitments are expanding.

RPO reached $2.59 billion, up 25% from a year earlier. RPO represents contracted revenue that has not yet been recognized, providing visibility into future business activity.

3. The company beat expectations.

Adjusted EPS of $1.55 exceeded the approximately $1.46 analyst consensus, while revenue surpassed expectations by roughly $9 million.

The Bigger Picture

Warehouse automation isn't just about robots, conveyors and autonomous vehicles.

It's also about the software coordinating all of those systems with inventory, workers, orders and customers.

That's where Manhattan operates.

There are still important numbers to monitor. Q3 operating cash flow declined approximately 26% year over year, and management continues to acknowledge macroeconomic uncertainty.

But the combination of 28% cloud growth, $2.59 billion in contracted future revenue and record bookings helps explain why investors may be taking another look.

The robotics revolution needs hardware. It also needs software that makes everything work together.

And Manhattan Associates is building its business around that second opportunity.
