Tesla outlines Optimus production and robotics pivot in earnings releases
In Tesla’s Q4 2025 earnings disclosures and related reporting, the company reiterated its pivot toward robotics and autonomous systems:
The Optimus humanoid robot (Gen 3) is expected to be unveiled in early 2026 with mass production planned by year‑end as part of strategic retooling at its Fremont facility.
Tesla plans to discontinue legacy Model S/X production to make room for Optimus and Cybercab robotaxi lines, with substantial CapEx earmarked for AI, autonomy, and robot manufacturing capacity.
