Palladyne AI (PDYN) reported a sharp acceleration in second-quarter revenue as its defense, aerospace and autonomous-systems businesses begin converting contract activity into sales.

FY2026 Operating Cash Burn Guidance | $32M–$36M | ~$8M–$9M/quarter average |
Palladyne added approximately $13 million of new contract awards during Q2, allowing backlog to grow 43% even after recognizing a record quarter of revenue.
Management expects the majority of that backlog to convert to revenue over the next 12–18 months.

Palladyne reiterated full-year 2026 revenue guidance of $24M–$27M
That would represent approximately 357%–415% year-over-year growth from $5.2 million in 2025.
Management also expects revenue to increase sequentially again in Q3 as backlog converts and new programs ramp.
The company maintained expected 2026 operating cash burn of $32M–$36M, or an average of approximately $8M–$9M per quarter.
Management expects cash usage to decline through the remainder of the year as revenue and margins increase.
Defense Programs Are Becoming More Concrete
The quarter included several notable program milestones:
$2.6M of BRAIN flight-computer orders, including a $2.3M contract supporting a low-cost kinetic counter-UAS interceptor.
A $2.9M U.S. Air Force STRATFI option, bringing the total Palladyne IQ program value above $10.6M.
Commencement of a previously announced $4.2M Air Force Research Laboratory HANGTIME contract.
Competitive selection for two U.S. Army contracts to operationally validate SwarmOS and Gremlin-X.
Five additional defense exercises scheduled through March 2027 following recent SwarmOS demonstrations.
Palladyne also signed an exclusive partnership with Israel Aerospace Industries covering U.S. rights to HARPY, HAROP and Mini HARPY long-range loitering munitions, with up to 10 years of exclusivity.
One Operator. Four Drone Manufacturers
The SwarmOS demonstration may be particularly important to the longer-term robotics story.

During the Army's Ivy Mass exercise, Palladyne integrated SwarmOS into the Army's next-generation command-and-control ecosystem.
The system enabled one operator to control drones from four different manufacturers, including Palladyne's Gremlin-X.

Palladyne remains an early-stage company, and losses and cash consumption remain significant.
$1.0M → $5.8M quarterly revenue
$17.3M → $24.6M backlog in one quarter
